Hello meeting pioneers!
We are 8 months into 2021 and after a crazy launch in July, August has been a month of recharge for the tl;dv team. Holidays were taken, beverages were had, and trails were hiked. At the same time, we’ve experienced growth across all of our KPIs and our team has definitely not sat still at all! Here is what happened in August 2021, in written and tl;dv format below!
Product updates
This month you’ve saved over 600,000 meeting minutes with tl;dv! Even though July was a huge month due to our Product Hunt launch, we sustained this growth with a 40% increase in daily successful meetings. As always, your feedback is invaluable and is helping to shape the future of our product. Our changelogs are updated on the blog consistently, and you can make your product feature requests via Canny.
Using Notion to take meeting notes?
Our mission is to save your time spent in and around meetings with contextualized meeting notes, that are linked to the exact moment in your tl;dv. Many of you love the tl;dv Google Meet interface for exactly this purpose. However, some prefer using other async collaboration apps such as Notion for meeting notetaking and asked for deeper integration. We’re now happy to have soft-launched the first version of tl;dv for Notion, which links your notes on Notion Web automatically to the exact moment in the recording and transcript. Test it now!
Sort your tl;dvs how you want
Want to quickly find and share your meeting from last Friday? How about last month’s QBR? No problem! Now you can sort all of your tl;dvs according to three categories:
- Recorded by me
- Shared with me
- Starred
Finding your tl;dvs has never been so easy! Well, at least until we launch our library search function, which is coming real soon! 😉
From the blog
Some of our favourite blogs this month include:
Cal Newport: Deep Work. For remote teams, we all know the importance of Deep Work. We’ve outlined some of the basics, plus included a handy little PDF takeaway.
Meeting minutes template. Like to join meetings with a pre-filled agenda? No worries! Download our templates in PDF, Google Sheets, and a range of other document types.
Who or what is tl;dv? You’ve asked us countless times “What on earth does tl;dv mean!?”. Now it is time for us to come clean…
Customer love
This month, you have relished the joy of leaner synchronous meetings. We have loved all of the ample feedback you’ve shared this month, especially regarding our new tl;dv for Notion feature. Here is what some of your peers think about tl;dv.
You know when a tool is good when if you imagine the world without it and your palms start sweating! tl;dv is probably my favorite tool out there today. An amazing product and the team behind it is even better!

Sometimes it is just impossible to get everyone into a live meeting – even if it is a video call. tl;dv is not only a great solution to save time, but also to exploit the full potential of your ideas. 👍
