Krisp.ai Review & 6 Alternatives for a Better AI Meeting Assistant

Krisp.ai is a powerful platform, used by some of the biggest organizations in the world. Their client roster includes Atlassian, Sony, Siemens, and even NASA, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t Krisp alternatives that may be a better fit for you and your business.

Krisp markets itself as a smart layer that can be slotted into any of your online meetings, whether you’re using Skype, Zoom, or even Slack calls. While it offers an AI meeting assistant that records, transcribes, and summarizes your online meetings, its real focus is on sound quality.

Before we dive into the Krisp alternatives, let’s take a look at what Krisp is, what it does well, and where it misses the boat.

Krisp Review: What Exactly is Krisp?

Krisp.ai homepage

As mentioned above, Krisp is an AI meeting assistant that specializes in audio quality. However, Krisp doesn’t just have one USP. For example, it’s well-suited to call center integration, focusing on speech-to-text transcription, but also live interpretation. Its strong focus on sound quality leads to AI noise cancellation and accent localization too, which is as powerful as it is creepy.

Here are the main benefits of using Krisp.

AI Noise Cancellation

Included within the accent localization (and as a standalone feature) is AI noise cancellation. This is what sets it apart from many meeting recorders that focus solely on conversational intelligence. Krisp’s IP is slightly different.

Krisp makes your transcripts crisp by removing background noise and therefore making your audio much clearer. From barking dogs to crying babies, keyboard clicks to busy cafe noises, Krisp’s technology completely removes any background noise.

This works with any conferencing app, all call center platforms, and any headphone or device.

You Don’t Need New Hardware

One of the great things about Krisp is that it mimics a physical hardware device but it only exists in software form. You simply need to download the desktop app on Windows or Mac, and you’ll get two virtual devices automatically: Krisp Microphone and Krisp Speaker.

Krisp doesn’t require you to have a bot enter the meeting, and you don’t need to use any additional integrations to make it work. Whether you’re using Google Meet, Zoom, MS Teams, or Skype, simply select Krisp Microphone and Krisp Speaker and the rest is all taken care of.

Real-Time AI Meeting Transcriptions

Krisp offers a bot-free, non-intrusive experience which other transcription apps struggle to match. Krisp’s transcripts are generally quite accurate due to the noise cancellation (and accent localization, if necessary). Additionally, they’re super easy to edit and share, making Krisp a great tool for collaboration.

Live AI Interpreter

The only time Krisp does use a bot is for live translations. If you have a call with someone who speaks a different language, getting in a human interpreter can take time and cost a significant amount. Krisp’s AI interpreter can join instantly, from anywhere in the world, and it understands and translates more than 20 languages.

While other AI meeting assistants provide transcription translations in many more languages automatically (without needing any extra steps), it’s important to note a key difference. Krisp translates actual speech on-the-go. This helps clear up any misunderstandings, especially around complex things like legal queries, but it can also help with technical assistance, medical advice, and crisis management. Having access to a live interpreter when you need one is crucial.

AI Accent Localization

This otherworldly feature transforms the voice of a speaker with an accent into one of 6 generic AI voices (3 male, 3 female). On one hand, it’s built to help you broaden your hiring pool by eliminating any accent prerequisites. It also reduces the cognitive load and stress of accent training for new employees, while saving you money during your onboarding process.

On the other hand, voice options are limited. They can sound robotic and monotone, and it may be unnerving for prospects or customers to speak with reps that have AI voices. It feels distinctly less personal, even though it’s still a person speaking. For some, it enters the uncanny valley and may put people off rather than attract them.

For a demonstration on how this works, see the video below. If you’ve never seen it before, prepare to have your mind blown. 🤯

Call Center Transcription

Krisp is state-of-the-art tech for call center transcription. It offers real-time on-device transcription, but also PII redaction and a secure method for uploading to your private cloud. It’s compatible with any UCaaS and CCaaS platform, making it a complete game-changer. Krisp also claims to have an unrivaled transcription accuracy of 96%!

Bot-Free AI Notes

One of Krisp’s big selling points is that it’s the only AI meeting assistant that’s completely bot-free. It doesn’t need to join your call as an additional participant. It can take notes in real-time remotely. It provides long and short summaries, action items, and discussion items for you to easily browse through post-call.

Krisp also comes with ready-to-use meeting templates so that its AI will take notes according to preset instructions. This is a massive help for sales teams wanting to follow a specific playbook, or for any other team that has a method of note taking that they wish to keep consistent.

Like many Krisp alternatives, you can easily connect Krisp to your calendar to automate meeting notes and sharing.

Strong Free Plan

Krisp’s free plan is great. You get unlimited transcriptions, 60 minutes of noise cancellation per day, 2 AI summaries per day, bot-free recording, AI meeting notes, and even custom vocabulary. This makes it a great tool to try out before you commit to paying anything.

What Could Be Better About Krisp?

Krisp isn’t without its flaws, but it really depends on what your business needs. Unlike many Krisp alternatives, it has a spread of USPs that makes it difficult to compare one-by-one to each and every competitor. There aren’t many Krisp alternatives that can do as much as Krisp, however, most focus on one specific area more than others. Do you want to spread your features wide or get the best of the best in one or two particular areas?

Before we get into the competition, let’s take a look at the disadvantages of using Krisp.

Keine Multi-Meeting-Intelligenz

While Krisp has a lot going for it, conversational intelligence isn’t its brightest feature. Its AI is limited to simple summaries and meeting notes. While this is great for teams that just need crisp audio and quality transcripts, it’s certainly lacking for teams that want to understand the nuances of their prospect’s stance.

Multi-meeting intelligence is a ground-breaking feature that could take Krisp to the next level if implemented. It allows teams to generate AI insights across multiple meetings simultaneously, helping you identify trends, patterns, and deeper analysis into why things work or don’t work.

It’s particularly useful for sales teams, which Krisp supposedly caters for. Sales managers with multi-meeting intelligence can quickly analyze all their reps’ calls at once and uncover recurring objections, as well as see how they’re handled. It’s the perfect way to save time on call analysis, one of the main reasons why people record calls in the first place.

For now, Krisp focuses on one meeting at a time at the expense of deeper insights.

No Sales-Specific Features

Krisp has a great many features for producing high quality transcripts and sound quality, but it doesn’t have any sales-specific features that make it a hit with sales teams. Sure, quality audio and accurate transcripts go a long way, but they are generic features.

Sales teams would benefit from objection handling tips, a speaker analytics dashboard, meeting note templates for all the most popular sales playbooks, or even just AI scorecards. Krisp doesn’t come with any of these, making it feel a bit of a weaker offering for sales teams in the market for an AI meeting assistant.

Unreliability

While the vast majority of users have a good experience with Krisp, their biggest drawback according to G2 reviewers is its unreliability. A total of 15 users experienced poor audio quality, audio issues, or noise issues, with others complaining about the high subscription cost and high bandwidth usage.

One particular user commented that from a meeting with 6 people, only 2 were captured in the transcript. Krisp’s support team later told them they were unable to retroactively analyze the call, making it effectively useless in terms of documentation.

While bugs are to be expected in basically all software, it can certainly make you think twice about paying for a product.

Call Center Solutions

Krisp’s call center solutions are widely regarded as some of the best in the business. However, to access them, you need to book a demo. Unlike the AI meeting assistant, Krisp’s call center solutions don’t have a free plan and require a sales call before you can start using them.

This doesn’t necessarily make them a worse offering, but it does make it more difficult to get started.

Lack of Integrations

As Krisp isn’t like your standard AI meeting assistants, it doesn’t need to integrate with video conferencing platforms. It acts as a virtual device so it can connect with any and all video conferencing platforms that are compatible with virtual devices. This is fine…

However, when it comes to CRM systems, sales tools, or documentation apps, Krisp falls flat. It has no native integrations with these types of tools. The only savior is that it works with Zapier, so you can take a few extra steps and still set up a connection via zaps.

Krisp Pricing

Krisp’s AI meeting assistant has a fantastic free plan that we discussed in the benefits section above. To recap, you can unlock the following features without spending a single cent:

  • Unlimited Transcription
  • AI Noise Cancellation (60 mins daily)
  • Meeting History limited
  • AI Summaries & Action Items (2 daily)
  • Bot-free recording & note-taking
  • Benutzerdefiniertes Vokabular

When paying for the Pro or Business account, a yearly subscription will save you 50% on monthly costs. Paid annually, the Pro plan will set you back a mere $8 per month, while the Business plan clocks in at $15 per month.

The Pro plan includes everything from the free plan, and:

  • Unlimited Transcription
  • Unlimited AI Noise Cancellation
  • Unlimited Meeting History
  • Unlimited Meeting Recording
  • Unlimited AI Summaries & Action Items

You also receive 3GB of storage, multi-language support, and the option to record video (with a bot).

The Business plan tops this by offering 30GB storage, unlimited integrations, priority customer support, SOC2 report access and SSO. Their pricing page shows they also have a Hubspot integration coming soon.

Is Krisp Worth It?

In short, yes! Krisp is a fantastic platform for highly accurate transcripts. Its innovative noise cancellation features, live AI interpreter, and even the AI accent localization all contribute to a brilliant transcription software. Its free plan is great to get started with and its paid plans are very affordable.

However, Krisp may be spreading itself too thin. Its focus on crystal clear audio and high quality transcripts may be taking away from potential in other areas. For example, many AI meeting assistants in today’s market can automate a lot more with native integrations and more powerful insights.

Additionally, many Krisp alternatives have features specific to sales teams or even revenue teams. If you have a sales or revenue team and want to use conversational intelligence to close more deals, it’s not really possible with Krisp. Sure, you get top of the range transcriptions, but you don’t get the extra oomph that allows you to put those transcripts to good use. After all, if you’re not using the transcript efficiently, then there really isn’t much point in having it in the first place.

To show you what we mean, let’s dive into the Krisp alternatives and you can see for yourself what some of them are capable of.

6 Krisp Alternatives That Might Be Better For Your Business

As Krisp has several USPs, we’re going to break the competitors up into three distinct categories:

  1. AI Meeting Assistant
  2. Audio Quality
  3. Live Interpretation

AI Meeting-Assistenten

The first batch of Krisp competitors comes in the form of AI meeting assistants. These AI tools will join your meeting, record, transcribe, and apply AI insights to your calls so that you can make better decisions more quickly. They aim to save time and increase productivity in the workplace, seamlessly automating mundane tasks and providing cutting edge analysis that can lead to more impactful sales strategies, among other things.

If this sounds like something you’re looking for, you might be better suited to the following Krisp alternatives.

1. tl;dv

tl;dv, which stands for “too long; didn’t view”, is one of the best Krisp alternatives if you’re focused more on the AI’s capabilities. It’s a little more targeted towards sales teams than Krisp, but it still holds up incredibly well for other areas of your organization. From CS to Product, UX research to HR, tl;dv’s success lies in its ability to automate. With this platform, your sales team gets a bunch of extra features, but your other teams won’t be feeling left out.

Like Krisp, tl;dv has a great free plan. Only this one is better. While Krisp’s plan nets you unlimited transcripts, tl;dv one ups this by offering unlimited transcripts with video recording included. Where Krisp provides 2 AI summaries per day, tl;dv gives you unlimited AI summaries. You can also experiment with tl;dv’s more advanced features, with 10 multi-meeting reports (which we’ll get onto in a moment), and 10 “Ask tl;dv AI” prompts to get deeper insights, or perhaps even draft a follow-up email. You can also transcribe in more than 40 languages on the free plan, compared to Krisp’s 1.

When you commit to tl;dv’s paid subscriptions (which start at $18 per user, per month), you unlock 5,000+ integrations, unlimited AI usage, and cutting edge sales coaching features like playbooks, scorecards, and objection handling tips.

In addition to everything so far, tl;dv also provides multi-meeting intelligence. This means you can generate AI reports across multiple meetings at once. Even better, you can schedule these reports to recur regularly so you get automated reports directly to your inbox that cover all your team’s meetings in a given time period. You can filter these to be about specific things like customer complaints, prospect objections, or competitor mentions, and you can also filter which meetings are used based on participants, title, or a number of other methods.

This game-changing feature is one of the core reasons why tl;dv is the number one Krisp alternative. By automating analysis that would otherwise take all day, tl;dv takes a huge weight off a manager’s shoulders. The reports are all time-stamped so it’s simple to hop between different moments from different calls.

Over 60% of business owners believe that AI will increase productivity. Those that use tl;dv know that it already does. And recurring reports aren’t the only reason! tl;dv complements this with its powerful sales coaching features.

For starters, it offers custom meeting notes templates. There are dozens of templates to choose from, from sales playbooks like BANTSPIN, and MEDDIC, to a variety of templates for HR, Customer Success, and other roles. You can even create your own template and map each section to your CRM fields so that when you export the transcript, it fits straight into your CRM seamlessly. Talk about seamless automation. This is one of the key things that Krisp lacks in its offering: everything must be done manually or via third parties.

tl;dv also provides a speaker analytics dashboard so that sales managers can monitor their sales team performance and individual reps can improve through self-learning. This dashboard reveals a whole range of statistics, from monologue length to the amount of filler words used, the number of questions asked to a rep’s talk-to-listen ratio. It’s also here where you can monitor whether your sales reps have stuck to the playbooks you’re working from.

You’ll also find tips for handling objections that may come in useful for your sales reps in future calls.

Alle Einzelheiten finden Sie hier.

tl;dv vs Krisp

Krisp is a great tool for sound quality. Its noise cancellation, accent localization, and live AI interpreter are all features that tl;dv cannot match. However, in terms of AI meeting assistants, you don’t get deeper insights and swifter automation than you do with tl;dv. It saves countless hours which increases the overall productivity of your team, empowering you to take your progress to the next level.

If you’re looking for top notch audio quality, then Krisp is king.

If, however, you’re looking for a tool that can automate conversational intelligence, sync notes with your CRMs, and provide in-depth analysis into multiple calls at once, as well as providing a sales analytics dashboard to elevate your sales team, then tl;dv is the best option for you.

2. Tactiq

Tactiq Homepage

Tactiq is another AI meeting assistant that records, transcribes, and takes notes during your live calls. It’s an interesting alternative to Krisp as it also provides custom vocabulary and real-time transcriptions. Like other AI meeting assistants in this list, it doesn’t provide live interpretation, noise cancellation, or accent localization, but it does automatically remove filler words and translate transcripts in more than 60 languages, including local dialects.

Tactiq’s AI can even perform sentiment analysis, helping your sales reps figure out where your prospects are at emotionally. This is a powerful improvement compared to Krisp’s fairly tame meeting intelligence.

Tactiq Profis

  • Echtzeit-Transkriptionen.

Tactiq Preisgestaltung

Tactiq’s paid plans start at the same price as Krisp’s: $8 per month. However, the $8 plan unlocks unlimited transcriptions and 10 AI credits per month, something Krisp more or less provides for free (and tl;dv definitely does).

The Team Plan is $16.7 per user per month, only a fraction higher than Krisp’s, and this allows for unlimited AI credits and priority support.

Finally, the Enterprise Plan is customizable and varies in price depending on your needs.

Kostenlose Planfunktionen
  • 5 KI-Guthaben pro Monat
  • 10 Abschriften pro Monat
  • Abschriften freigeben und exportieren
  • Hochladen von Meeting-Aufzeichnungen

Tactiq’s free plan is weaker than Krisp’s but it still provides you with enough leeway to try out the tool. It also includes some basic features like global search and edit transcript.

Tactiq vs Krisp

Tactiq is a good Krisp alternative if you’re focused solely on AI meeting assistants. The two tools have fairly similar offerings, although Tactiq triumphs with its sentiment analysis and 60 translatable languages.

However, considering the wider use case of Krisp, it has to be said that Tactiq comes up short compared to Krisp’s sophisticated audio quality features.

To see how Tactiq squared up to tl;dv, check out our comprehensive comparison: tl;dv vs Tactiq.

3. Avoma

Avoma Homepage.

Avoma, like other Krisp alternatives so far, can’t compete in sound quality. However, Avoma offers conversational intelligence that benefits not just sales teams, but also revenue teams! This makes Avoma perfect for those that want to track their sales pipeline from start to finish, improving deal forecasting by capturing juicy insights on-call.

With Avoma, you can record, transcribe, and summarize meetings from multiple different video conferencing platforms, including MS Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, UberConference, BlueJeans, GoToMeeting, and more. While Krisp is eligible to work on any platform that enables virtual devices, Avoma excels in regards to meeting platform integrations.

However, that’s where Avoma’s decent integrations end. Like Krisp, it struggles in the integration department, only providing a couple of CRMs to work with (more than Krisp). The real terrible thing with Avoma is that it doesn’t even integrate with Zapier, making it reliant on the few native integrations it does have. This is a fatal flaw for the sales and revenue teams that it targets as they need to pull data from all sorts of different places and can’t without proper APIs. It’s a big red flag for automation.

The other drawback is that while it offers translations in 30+ languages, it doesn’t have a localized platform in anything other than English. This makes it a weaker offering for non-English teams.

Avoma Profis

  • Kompatibilität. Es kann über Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, BlueJeans, UberConference, GoToMeeting und mehr verwendet werden...
  • Sales coaching. It offers sales coaching derived from personalized insights.

Preisgestaltung

Avoma’s Starter Plan starts off at $19 per user per month and offers just 2,400 minutes of transcription per month. Both Krisp and tl;dv provide unlimited transcriptions for free.

Der Plus-Plan erhöht sich auf 49 US-Dollar pro Monat und bietet CRM-Integrationen und unbegrenzte Transkriptionen.

Avoma’s Business Plan will set you back $79 per month and provides you with AI scorecards as well as advanced conversation and revenue intelligence.

Avoma bietet auch einen Enterprise-Plan zum Preis von 129 US-Dollar pro Monat an.

Kostenlose Planfunktionen
  • Aufnahme und Transkription (300 Minuten pro Monat)
  • Begrenzte AI-generierte Notizen
  • Kollaboratives Notieren
  • Vorbereitung der Tagesordnung
  • Unbegrenzter 1:1 Planer

Avoma’s free plan might not be capable of competing with Krisp’s but it does offer a free 14-day trial for any of the paid plans. This means you’re free to test out its advanced features over any 2-week period which can be a massive help in choosing whether or not it’s right for you.

Avoma vs Krisp

Avoma doesn’t stand a chance against Krisp in terms of audio quality. That’s not its game. But when it comes to an AI meeting assistant, Avoma certainly packs a punch. It features sales playbooks, objection handling tips, and revenue intelligence that helps teams to forecast deals more accurately and prioritize their pipeline better. Sales and revenue are two areas practically untouched by Krisp, so if you have any desire to close more deals, Avoma might be the better choice.

However, if you’re solely focusing on audio quality, transcript accuracy, and call center solutions like accent localization, then Avoma doesn’t stand a chance of coming out on top of Krisp.

If you want a deep dive into the differences between the top Krisp competitor on this list (tl;dv) and Avoma, see our comprehensive guide: tl;dv vs. Avoma.

Audio Quality

The AI meeting assistants listed above might be better at automating tasks, syncing notes and insights across other work tools, and improving sales and revenue processes, but none of them really compete with Krisp’s dominant USP: sound quality.

So let’s take a look at a few Krisp alternatives that do.

4. IRIS

Iris.audio's homepage

IRIS is a powerful noise cancellation app that might give Krisp a run for its money. With the domain “.audio”, you can be sure that IRIS is coming for Krisp’s sound quality crown. And with the big industry names it has supporting them, you have to at least consider them as a competitor: EE, BT, and Motorola are all proud supporters of IRIS’ technology.

Firstly, it isolates the voice in noisy environments, allowing the user to concentrate on the conversation. The website features a nifty demo for you to try out how it sounds to use IRIS in different environments, from a busy subway to a speeding race car. The great thing about IRIS is that it’s bi-directional. That means it removes background noise from both ends of the call simultaneously!

IRIS targets call centers, like Krisp, but it also aims to be used in more niche areas like air traffic control, emergency services, or motor sports where clear comms are essential for split second decisions.

There’s a 7-day free trial for you to figure out if it’s right for you.

IRIS Pros

  • Excellent Noise Cancellation. IRIS removes background noise so that you can focus on the conversation.
  • Bidirectional Noise Cancellation. Their noise cancellation feature works both ways so that both participants receive crystal clear communication.
  • Free Trial. You get 7 days to try out the software free of charge.
  • Easy to Get Started. Download the app, create an account, and you’re away.

IRIS Cons

  • No Transcriptions. IRIS is not a transcription service, nor an AI meeting assistant. It works only on ensuring you get quality audio.
  • No AI Insights. It doesn’t analyze your calls, just crystalizes them for you.
  • No Accent Localization. It doesn’t have any features to neutralize accents in a call center environment.
  • No Live Interpreters. IRIS isn’t able to translate calls on the fly.

IRIS Pricing

You get a 7-day free trial to try it out before committing to any subscription. However, there is no free plan so once your 7 days are up, you’re only left with the paid version.

IRIS doesn’t share its pricing on its website anymore, though G2 suggests there are three tiers, priced at: £6.50 per user per month, £9.50 per user per month, and an Enterprise plan that requires you to contact their sales team directly. It’s not entirely clear what separates the first two plans, but the Enterprise plan receives dedicated priority support compared to online-only, SSO, and the ability to remove background noises from pre-recorded calls for more accurate transcripts.

IRIS vs Krisp

IRIS and Krisp both work to create crystal clear audio. Krisp is more catered to corporate work, call centers, and sales teams, while IRIS targets emergency services, motor sports, air traffic control, and even governments.

IRIS focuses on reducing background noise and making the sound quality stronger, in two directions. That’s the key distinction between the two in terms of audio quality.

Krisp might not offer bi-directional noise cancellation, but it does provide accent localization and live interpretation, which are both audio-related enhancements that may or may not be necessary for your business. If you’re not having any calls with speakers of different languages, or accents aren’t as big of a problem for you, then IRIS may actually be the better option. It all depends on your circumstances.

There’s an additional point, though. Krisp also doubles as an AI meeting assistant, though as seen from the Krisp alternatives above, it’s not the best. Still, it offers unlimited transcripts and AI summaries which is more than IRIS offers. Having said that, IRIS is cheaper and if you’re only searching for basic transcripts and summaries to go with your bi-directional noise cancellation, then you can get those features for free with tl;dv.

5. NVIDIA Broadcast (Free)

NVIDIA Broadcast homepage

NVIDIA Broadcast is another great tool that provides top quality audio and video. It’s designed for live streaming, an industry which is predicted to have an overall revenue of $184 billion by 2027. However, it’s also frequently used in voice chats, video calls, and online meetings.

As with all the Krisp alternatives so far, NVIDIA Broadcast is not, strictly speaking, a direct competitor. It has a lot of overlap, but all these tools have slightly different target markets, and NVIDIA is no different. But it does have one key benefit: it’s completely free!

NVIDIA Broadcast has several cool features that make it a great alternative to Krisp for everyday meetings. For example, it has noise and echo removal toggles that can be flicked to rise above the noise and be heard clearly. You can also remove the visual noise in low-light settings in the same way. Similarly, Broadcast allows you to set a background or blur your background if you want people to focus on you instead.

Another interesting feature of Broadcast is that you can turn on Auto Frame which will track your movements to keep you in the center of the screen. This is more useful in live streams but can come in handy during other calls too. For presentations, they even have an Eye Contact feature that automatically adjusts your eyes to be facing the camera while you’re speaking. This makes your presentations seem more personal even if you feel awkward doing it over camera.

Here’s a short introduction to what NVIDIA Broadcast is capable of. And remember, it’s completely free!

NVIDIA Broadcast Pros

  • Absolutely Free. The great news is that NVIDIA Broadcast is absolutely free of charge so you don’t have to worry about free plan restrictions, trial end dates, or subscription tiers.
  • Noise and Echo Cancellation. You can clear up your audio by removing background noise like coffee shop sounds or keyboard clicking.
  • Remove Visual Noise. Clear up your visual quality in low-light settings.
  • Auto-Frame. Keep centered in your screen no matter where you move.
  • Eye Contact. Maintain the illusion of eye contact during virtual presentations.
  • Backgrounds. Blur your background or select an image to display behind you instead.
  • Works as a Virtual Device. Like Krisp, Broadcast works as a virtual device so you can get it to work for any video conferencing platform.

NVIDIA Broadcast Cons

  • No Transcriptions. Like IRIS, Broadcast doesn’t come with any transcription software.
  • No Conversational Intelligence. As it’s not an AI meeting assistant, the conversation isn’t analyzed for insights.
  • No Accent Localization. Broadcast can’t help with speakers of diverse accents.
  • No Live Interpretation. Broadcast doesn’t help to translate text, neither live nor post-call.
  • System Requirements. The system requirements may be a little high for some users.

NVIDIA Broadcast Pricing

It’s completely and utterly free of charge. Simply go to their website and download it.

NVIDIA Broadcast vs Krisp

These two tools both work as virtual devices that can cancel out background noise and provide a cleaner audio experience. They can connect with any video conferencing platform to provide a seamless experience wherever you’re having a call. That’s about where their similarities end.

NVIDIA Broadcast is initially more eye-catching because it’s completely free to use. However, this platform focuses more on video quality as well as sound quality. This is great for users that just want to strengthen the audio and visual quality of their online meetings free of charge.

Krisp, on the other hand, has additional layers as a call center software and basic AI meeting assistant. It offers transcripts, AI notes, and AI summaries based on specific templates. It also provides live interpretation and AI accent localization, both of which can come in extremely handy in very specific circumstances.

Whether or not those circumstances apply to you is entirely your call.

Live Interpretation

Krisp is a multi-functional tool. While it’s not the best AI meeting assistant, having the basic features is certainly better than not having any. Its state-of-the-art audio quality is enough to cause envy, but it’s the combination of the above two categories and live interpretation that makes Krisp what it is.

Here is the number one Krisp alternative that specializes in live interpretation.

6. LanguageLine

Language Line homepage

LanguageLine specializes in OPI (over-the-phone-interpretation). In fact, it claims to have founded the entire industry back in 1982. Offering interpretation in more than 240 languages, it’s the global leader in phone interpreting services.

They offer lightning fast access to more than 20,000 professional interpreters so you can get someone to speak the languages you need in time for your call.

LanguageLine Pros

  • Over 240 Languages. You can get live interpretation in a mind-boggling 240+ languages.
  • 24/7 Support. Successful implementation and rollout is all but guaranteed.
  • Translation Services. LanguageLine also provides a number of translation services, from basic AI to professional or legal documents.
  • Wide Range of Additional Features. LanguageLine doesn’t just provide live interpretation, it also provides training, testing, translations, and even sign language interpretation.

LanguageLine Cons

  • Expensive. As LanguageLine works with people rather than AI, it’s vastly more expensive (and more accurate).
  • No Conversational Intelligence. It’s not an AI platform that can analyze calls for deep insights.
  • No Audio Quality Features. It doesn’t offer any features to improve sound quality.
  • No Transcripts or AI Notes. LanguageLive is not an AI meeting assistant.

LanguageLine Pricing

LanguageLine isn’t forthright with its pricing policy. You’ll need to schedule a consultancy call with them to find out more, however, you can expect to be paying a lot more than any of the other alternatives on this list so far. You’ll be paying experienced professionals an hourly wage.

LanguageLine vs Krisp

There’s no doubt about it, for live interpretation, LanguageLine is the superior option. However, there are two drawbacks to this:

  1. Live interpretation is the only thing it does (in comparison to Krisp’s transcripts, notes, summaries, noise cancellation, accent localization, etc.)
  2. It’s far more expensive than Krisp.

However, if you’re only using Krisp because of its live interpretation, and that’s the aspect of it that you need the most, LanguageLine should not be overlooked.

The Verdict: What’s the Best Krisp Alternative

Ultimately, Krisp has a broad array of USPs. From sound quality to transcription service, live interpreter to accent localizer, there’s no single competitor that can compete on all fronts. However, when you break those fronts down into categories, there are certainly Krisp alternatives that specialize in one area more than another.

For example, tl;dv is the superior AI meeting assistant. It offers deeper conversational insights, multi-meeting intelligence, sales coaching features, and recurring reports, but it doesn’t provide any noise cancellation features, nor does it have accent localization or live interpretation.

It’s a balancing act. First, you must work out what your organization needs. If it’s live interpretation, for instance, LanguageLine might be the better choice for you. If it’s actionable transcripts with sales-motivated insights then tl;dv or maybe Avoma is a better fit. Strong audio and video quality? NVIDIA Broadcast might be your choice.

The choice between Krisp alternatives comes down to your personal business needs. Figure out what you most love about Krisp and locate the competitors above. Are they better for what you need? Try them out for yourself where possible!

Whichever platform you choose, you can expect higher quality calls and meetings from now on.
