Our history
tl;dv was founded in Germany in 2020 by three co-founders who had spent years working around the same problem: after every meeting ends, the real work begins. Notes must be written, CRM records updated, follow-ups sent, and important context is often locked in a single person’s memory until it disappears.
These three tech enthusiasts had years of collaborative product experience behind them and knew exactly how to address this. Today, more than 3 million users rely on tl;dv every day: sales teams, customer success organizations, consulting firms, and any team where meeting knowledge is a critical asset.

Meet the leadership
Raphael Allstadt, Co-Founder & CEO
Raphael studied at ETH Zürich and before founding tl;dv he was at one point the fastest burger assembler in Germany.
Rapha has been frustrated by meeting culture since long before it was a LinkedIn meme and tl;dv is the answer to that. He leads the vision, the voice, and the stubborn conviction that how teams capture and act on knowledge is a problem worth solving. Also has top notch joke delivery during the team all-hands.
Carlo Thissen, Co-Founder & COO
Carlo studied design thinking at the Hasso Plattner Institute and built products at etventure before co-founding tl;dv with Rapha. Carlo runs Sales and Customer Ops, but beyond the job title he is a big fan of the LotR universe and can discuss its lore at length. Give it to Carlo to make tl;dv still feel like a hands-on operation, all without skipping second breakfast.
Allan Bettarel, Co-Founder & CTO
Allan studied at Supinfo International University, built at Amilia, and co-founded StudentSphere. As CTO, he owns the technical architecture behind a product that processes recordings, transcriptions, and AI at scale, with hundreds of thousands of recorded meetings per week, without cutting corners on speed or privacy. He also owns a limited edition James Hetfield signature guitar.
Meet the team
tl;dv has been serving Japanese customers since 2022. Our Japan team is based in Tokyo and covers sales, customer support and customer success, and content:
Mioko Nakayama, Technical Solutions Lead
Mioko joined tl;dv in 2025 as the founding Technical Solutions Lead for Japan. With a background in solutions engineering at Zoom, she brings deep understanding of how Japanese businesses evaluate and adopt SaaS platforms. From technical evaluation and onboarding to ongoing support and integration guidance, she helps ensure that customers in Japan can adopt and get the most out of tl;dv with confidence – while working closely with the product team to make sure Japanese customers’ voice is reflected in the platform.
Oji Kinoshita, Founding Account Executive
Oji joined tl;dv in 2026 as the founding Account Executive for Japan. He began his career at Fujitsu and went on to work across companies like Akamai, Adobe, and Blueprism, helping drive digital transformation at enterprise organizations throughout Japan. At tl;dv, he leads all sales activity in the region, working to grow the Japanese customer base and build the partnerships that expand tl;dv’s reach – all in service of helping raise productivity across Japanese workplaces.
Hiromi Takano, Customer Success Lead
Hiromi joined tl;dv in 2025 as founding CSM in Japan. He is a seasoned Customer Success leader with extensive experience across B2B SaaS and enterprise technology, from global SaaS startups including Miro to enterprise companies like Sony and Visa. Drawing on this background, he is dedicated to supporting tl;dv’s customers in Japan, helping each team get the most out of the platform and turn their meetings into real, lasting results.

The tl;dv team is fully remote, with team members based in Japan, Germany, France, England, South Africa, Italy, Brazil, Spain, Portugal, Türkiye, Canada, Australia, and Greece.

tl;dv is incorporated in Germany and built from day one for teams that operate under real compliance requirements. Your recordings, transcripts, and meeting data are processed and stored in the EU, on AWS Frankfurt and Google Cloud infrastructure, and are never used to train AI models.
