Top 5 Clearbit Alternatives: Finding the Right Sales Tool for You

Clearbit is a powerful data enrichment sales tool and customer intelligence platform. Not only does it provide you with all the tools to boost your sales, but it also has some pretty unique features like IP tracking that allows you to convert website traffic into leads. After all, the people visiting your site in their own time are far more likely to convert than any cold leads.

But is Clearbit the best tool in the business? Or are there some Clearbit alternatives that are worth a look? Well, I can tell you with certainty that there are alternatives to Clearbit – it’s down to you whether they’re better sales tools for your needs.

Before we dive headfirst into the Clearbit alternatives though, let’s take a bit of a deeper look at Clearbit.

Table of Contents

What is Clearbit?

Clearbit was designed to help businesses gather valuable information about their customers, leads, and prospects. When organizations have a deeper understanding of their audience, they make more informed decisions that generally lead to better outcomes. It also makes it easier to personalize interactions with the customer and enhance the user experience overall.

Let’s take a look at some of Clearbit’s best features that separate it from the host of other data scrapers on the web.

What are the Benefits of Using Clerabit?

There are plenty of reasons why using Clearbit is a good idea:

  • Stay synced: Sync fresh and reliable data across your systems in real time.
  • Convert traffic into leads: Identify any company visiting a website or app through Clearbit’s built-in IP tracking.
  • Broad database: More than 100 firmographic and technographic attributes on over 50 million companies.
  • Machine learning: Clearbit is powered by a highly-trained and quality-assured AI.
  •

In addition to these benefits, Clearbit provides everything you’d expect from a data enrichment tool. It provides real-time data (like phone numbers and email addresses) of potential prospects so that you can contact the decision makers of a company instantly.

It offers APIs to enable businesses to integrate its data into their existing systems, such as CRM platforms, marketing automation tools, and more. Not to mention, it comes with tons of automatic integrations so you don’t need to lift a finger. Salesforce, Hubspot, Marketo, and many more integrations are just a click away.

Clearbit Pros

  • User-friendly: It has a simple and intuitive layout that enables you to seamlessly navigate.
  • Integrations: Clearbit has lots of integrations to streamline your workflow.
  • Emails: It’s easy to email prospects using Clearbit.
  • Converts traffic into leads: Clearbit turns website visitors into leads with full company profiles.

Clearbit Cons

  • Expensive for small businesses: High prices can be a concern for small businesses.
  • Inaccurate phone numbers: The phone numbers it provides can often be inaccurate.

Clearbit Pricing

Clearbit has a free plan that allows you to use the core features of the platform. This includes de-anonymizing your site traffic which is well worth a trial run..

Unfortunately the paid plans’ pricing is hidden. You have to reach out to the Clearbit sales team directly to request a quote. This is an unnecessary bump in the road and often suggests that they are more expensive than similar platforms on the market – though it’s not always the case.

Their flexible plan structure means you should be able to work out a deal that’s mutually beneficial, regardless of the size of your business.

5 Clearbit Alternatives That Could Be Right For You

That’s Clearbit out of the way, but what about all those Clearbit competitors we promised? We’ve narrowed down our selection to the top 5 Clearbit alternatives – you can weigh the pros against the cons and decide what’s best for your company.

1. Apollo

Apollo is a comprehensive sales management and scraper tool that's worth the hype.

Apollo is an absolute beast of a platform. It’s been specifically created to assist organizations with their sales and marketing efforts. Like other data enrichment tools, it can scrape LinkedIn for contacts and set up an emailing campaign for you, but it can also do so much more. From A/B testing to AI-assisted email writing en masse, Apollo has so many features that it may actually be a little daunting.

And that brings us onto the negative side of Apollo: it’s so comprehensive that it runs the risk of potentially being unnecessarily complex. If you simply want to gather data on prospects – especially those who visit your website – then Clearbit is a straightforward option that gets the job done. Apollo is so multi-faceted that it might end up taking an entire team to make use of all its features.

Having said that, Apollo has a whopping 5,659 5-star reviews on G2. To put it simply, Apollo is a Clearbit competitor that covers data enrichment, lead generation, and sales engagement all in one super intuitive platform.

Apollo Pros

  • Personalized and automated: Apollo offers email tracking, cadence automation, and personalized outreach.
  • Data accuracy: It offers accurate and up-to-date information about companies and contacts.
  • Comprehensive: Campaign management is possible from within the platform.
  • Integrations: Apollo integrates with just about any CRM or sales tool you could think of.
  • Free plan: It has a fantastic free plan so you can give it a whirl without committing.

Apollo Cons

  • Complex: The amount of features and the complexity of each can be overwhelming for a small business that just wants to focus on data enrichment.
  • Expensive: Apollo might be considered expensive compared to other Clearbit alternatives.

Apollo Pricing

Apollo’s pricing is considered among the higher tiers for data enrichment tools, however it also offers a much more comprehensive suite than most of the other Clearbit competitors. To make up for this, however, Apollo’s free plan is one of the best on the market.

The free plan offers 10,000 free email credits. You can download the LinkedIn extension, send 250 emails per day, and even integrate with Zapier all without spending a single cent. There are plenty of other features on the free plan as well – you can find the details here.

Apollo’s Basic Plan is $49 per user per month, billed annually, It offers a sharp increase in the number of credits, as well as plenty more integrations. It allows you to move data in bulk (up to 10,000 records at a time). There’s also a 14-day free trial for Apollo’s Basic and Business plans.

The Business Plan costs $79 per user per month. It includes everything in Basic, plus some extra credits. You also unlock A/B testing, AI-assisted email writing, and call recordings! There’s also a feature called Conversations. It’s an AI-powered conversation intelligence that provides you with insights straight from your video calls. However, there’s another tool that’s even stronger for recording call recordings and mining your video calls for data insights. We’ll get onto that one in a minute…

Last, but certainly not least, the Organization Plan is $99 per user per month. This dramatically increases the limits of all features and adds call transcriptions among other things.

Apollo vs Clearbit: The Verdict

Apollo is more comprehensive, more complex, and more of an all-in-one tool than Clearbit. If that’s what you’re looking for then great. Problem solved. However, if the other features aren’t going to be utilized, then you’ll need to ask yourself whether it’s worth it.

Apollo has so many features that it can take a long time to learn. It has a much steeper learning curve than Clearbit and this can be off-putting for some businesses that want to keep things simple. It really boils down to your needs as a business. You don’t necessarily need a Ferrari if you’re only going to be driving it to the shops and back.

The Complementary Sales Recorder: tl;dv

tl;dv is not a contact scraper. It doesn’t compete directly with Clearbit or Apollo. However, it complements them both, as well as all the other Clearbit alternatives on this list.

While Clearbit and other data enrichment tools focus on getting you more contacts, hotter leads, and better prospects, tl;dv helps you mine data from video calls and sync it with your CRM of choice through recorded video calls, accurate transcripts, and AI-generated notes and summaries.

The higher end Apollo plans do allow for video call recordings and transcripts, but they lack the functionality that comes with a dedicated meeting recorder. With tl;dv, you can timestamp important meeting moments, tag colleagues so they can jump directly to the part that’s relevant to them, and even edit clips into reels. You can search your entire meeting library by keyword to quickly locate all the calls that talk about your specific topic. This is great for identifying trends and patterns in your sales calls.

Clearbit and its competitors are mostly focused on scraping contact information for use in sales calls, but Clearbit is also a popular choice for HR teams wanting to improve their recruitment game. They can quickly and easily get contact information to approach candidates for a specific role. In this case, you can use tl;dv to record the remote interviews to organize and compare different candidates. You can leave notes, tags, and condense the calls (into both text and a highlight reel) so that your HR team has a much easier way to choose who to hire. It’s also great for key decision makers to rewatch an interview if they couldn’t make it on the day.

How Much Does tl;dv Cost?

tl;dv’s free plan nets you unlimited recordings and transcripts straight off the bat! Not only that, but you can get started straight away. None of this waiting around or jumping through hoops to create an account – just a few clicks and you’re ready to record. tl;dv’s free plan also offers AI-generated notes, summaries, and action points, making Apollo’s Conversations feature redundant.

For the Pro Plan, it costs just $20 per month and this unlocks all the top CRM integrations so you can funnel your insights from sales calls directly to your customer relationship management software. This also allows you to make highlight reels, download calls and transcripts, and integrate with more than 5,000 other productivity tools.

tl;dv Pros

  • Free AI Integration: Use state of the art AI to provide summaries, notes, and automatic speaker detection.
  • Free and Instant Translations: Live transcriptions in 25+ languages for Zoom and Google Meet.
  • Amazing Free Plan: Unlimited free recordings of Zoom and Google Meet calls.
  • Easy to Use: tl;dv has an intuitive design that makes it super simple to use.
  • Timestamps and Tagging Features: Timestamp your meeting highlights to quickly jump back to specific moments in the call. It also features the ability to tag colleagues at specific meeting moments so they get an email with a link straight to their inbox.
  • Integrations: Push timestamps and meeting clips directly to Notion, Slack, HubSpot, Salesforce, and more via third-party integrations.
  • Create Clips and Highlights: Highlight sections of the transcript to create clips out of recorded meetings.
  • Intuitive Library: Search your meetings library for keywords in transcripts to quickly find what you’re looking for.

tl;dv Cons

  • Compatibility: Not yet available for Microsoft Teams.

All in all, whichever data enrichment tool you decide to use for your organization, consider complementing it with tl;dv to really take your data to the next level.

Let’s get back to the Clearbit alternatives…

2. Cognism

Cognism is a fantastic scraping tool.
Cognism makes sure you have the mobile phone number and B2B email addresses of the people that you want to do business with. Cognism claims to have 98% accuracy when it comes to mobile phone numbers – which is something that Clearbit has been negatively reviewed for not having.  Like most Clearbit alternatives, Cognism has dozens of integrations, empowering you to streamline your workflow and keep using your current productivity tools. Cognism also has a strong focus on being GDPR compliant. This takes a great burden off your shoulders as it scans the Do Not Call (DNC) lists around the world and notifies you which prospects are on them.

Cognism Pros

  • Data accuracy: Phone number accuracy is quoted as being 98%!
  • GDPR Compliant: They advise you if the phone number is on a DNC list.
  • International: They have a strong presence in Europe and work internationally.
  • Data quantity: They have 70 million phone numbers internationally – more than 2x that of any other data provider.

Cognism Cons

  • No free plan: Cognism doesn’t offer you a free plan to try out the features.

Cognism Pricing

Cognism, like Clearbit, makes you reach out to them directly before they tell you the price. This is often an indicator that it’s above the market average, but that’s not always the case. Sometimes, they just want to cater to your specific needs and build a plan that utilizes the features you will actually use. It does, however, put an obstacle in between you and getting started.  Another downside to Cognism’s pricing is that there is also no free trial. You can book a demo with a sales rep, but that’s as much as you’re going to get. Perhaps if you speak to them directly, you might be able to arrange one, but it’s not guaranteed.

Cognism vs Clearbit: The Verdict

Cognism is similar in scope to Clearbit. Unlike Apollo, neither Clearbit nor Cognism are comprehensive all-in-one platforms. They both focus solely on scraping contact information from the internet and enriching your data.  Cognism lacks the traffic conversion feature of Clearbit, but it does, however, have its own unique features, like stronger data accuracy and quantity.  Again, it really boils down to what you want from your sales engagement platform. Both Clearbit and Cognism are great choices and there isn’t too much to separate them. They have different strengths and they will have to be what you base your decision on.

3. Hunter

Hunter is a data enrichment tool to compete with the best of them.

Hunter was created to help you connect with any professional. It’s a self-proclaimed all-in-one email outreach platform that empowers you to find and connect with the people that matter most to your business.

Hunter uses a combination of proprietary technology and artificial intelligence to find, verify, and enrich contact details. It can put you in touch with decision makers almost instantly.

Like other Clearbit alternatives, Hunter has an array of integrations with CRM platforms as well as other productivity tools. Like Clearbit, you can use their own APIs to sync your data to wherever is best for you. Hunter is also recognized as a transparent and compliant company that allows you to stay out of hot water.

Hunter Pros

  • Email campaigns: Hunter is great for email campaigns – especially cold emails.
  • Search via website domain: You can use Hunter to easily find emails from website domains.
  • Email verification:They verify email addresses to protect your sender reputation.
  • Ease-of-use: The extension is super simple and intuitive.

Hunter Cons

  • Limited data: Compared to other Clearbit alternatives, Hunter has limited data.

Hunter Pricing

As a breath of fresh air, Hunter’s pricing is conveniently listed on their website. Their free plan doesn’t allow for too much: 25 monthly searches and 50 monthly verifications. But at least they have one. You can use this to try out the basic features and have a go with the platform before committing to anything long-term.

The Starter Plan will cost you 34€ per month. This unlocks 500 monthly searches and 1,000 monthly verifications. This also allows you to find emails via website domains. You can connect 3 separate email addresses and launch your email campaign to 2,500 people. With this plan, you also get priority support.

The Growth Plan is a hefty 104€ per month and greatly increases the numbers of everything in the Starter Plan. The Business Plan makes the limitations negligible, but you’ll pay the price for it: 349€ per month.

Hunter vs Clearbit: The Verdict

Hunter is a pricey tool, there’s no doubt about it. But it may still be cheaper than Clearbit if TrustRadius’s estimate is anything to go by.

Hunter’s ability to find email addresses directly from domains gives it a unique selling point in comparison to Clearbit, however, Clearbit’s ability to convert your website traffic into leads with data is a killer feature not found here.

Hunter has a smaller dataset than other Clearbit competitors so you might want to consider how important that is to you. It’s a solid tool but it just falls short of Clearbit in our opinion.

4. Lusha

Lusha is a great scraping tool, but is it the best?

Lusha is a powerful data-enrichment tool for B2B organizations. It opens on LinkedIn, Sales Navigator, Recruiter, Salesforce, or any company site to allow you instant access to your prospect’s contact details and B2B company info in seconds. This includes phone numbers, email addresses, and potential leads and contacts with other businesses.

While Lusha’s feature offerings are fairly basic, the platform has a loyal following and is well respected in the data enrichment industry. Lusha intends to provide you with accurate and up-to-date contact information so that your business can save time and increase the effectiveness of your sales and marketing campaigns.

Lusha Pros

  • Accurate data: Generally, Lusha has high quality contacts and accurate information.
  • Integrations: Lots of third-party integrations that make it easy for you to streamline your work.
  • Ease of use: Its chrome and LinkedIn plug-ins are easy-to-use.

Lusha Cons

  • Value: Can be a little pricey for what you actually get in comparison to more comprehensive Clearbit alternatives.
  • Relatively Basic: None of Lusha’s features are particularly unique.

Lusha Pricing

Lusha has several paid plans. You can sign up for free and get 5 credits per month and access to its core features – though 5 credits is rather low in comparison to other Clearbit competitors.

For $29 per user per month, you’ll get 480 credits per month and a few extra features like list management and list export. The Premium Plan comes in at $51 per user per month for 960 monthly credits. With this plan, you also unlock basic usage analytics and the ability to enrich in bulk. Lusha’s idea of bulk is 25 contacts at a time – this is included in Apollo’s free plan, while their bulk goes up to 10,000 contacts at a time.

Finally, if you want to use Lusha’s Scale Plan, you can contact them directly for prices.

Lusha vs Clearbit: The Verdict

Lusha is a solid platform that’s a great addition to any small business’s arsenal. It doesn’t try to be something it’s not, and it keeps things basic. For some, however, this simplicity is a hindrance. If you want to maximize the potential from your data enrichment tool then Lusha is probably not the best choice.

5. Seamless.ai

Seamless is a great tool for up-to-date data scraping.
Seamless is another scraper and data enrichment tool that claims to be “The World’s Best Sales Lead.” Their sales software finds verified cell phones, emails, and direct dials for anyone you need to sell to. They proudly offer their free version (no card needed) and invite you to join 500,000+ companies that are using Seamless to grow their business. Dubbed the first and only real-time search engine for B2B sales leads, Seamless has 1.9+ billion contact and company records verified in 2022. On average, they create a 5-10x ROI for your business as it helps you connect directly with your ideal customers so you can build your pipeline, shorten your sales cycle, and close more deals at scale.

Seamless Pros

  • Ease of use: Seamless is considered very easy to use, including the LinkedIn extension.
  • One-click sync with CRMs: Seamless has tons of integrations and they all work seamlessly.
  • High refresh rate: Seamless identifies changes in people’s contact information and updates them.
  • Data quantity: With more than 1.9 billion contact and company records, Seamless has a comprehensive database.

Seamless Cons

  • Difficult to cancel: Some of the reviews talk about having to jump through hoops to cancel their subscription and still being billed afterwards.
  • Poor customer service: Seamless doesn’t seem to excel in making their customers happy.

Seamless Pricing

Seamless doesn’t reveal its pricing on the website. Instead, you have to contact a sales rep. There is a free plan that doesn’t require any credit card to sign up, and there is also a free trial of the Basic Plan which is basically the same as the free plan but with extra credits and the option to attend a live training webinar. The Pro Plan offers daily credit refresh as well as Pitch Intelligence, unlimited integrations, job changes announcements, and much more. The Enterprise Plan offers all this with the addition of quarterly business reviews and phone support.

Seamless vs Clearbit: The Verdict

Seamless sounds like a great Clearbit alternative on paper, but Clearbit’s reviews are far higher (8.4/10 on TrustRadius and 4.5/5 on Capterra). This alone should put Clearbit ahead of Seamless.  Having said that, Seamless keeps their database updated regularly which means their data is often quite accurate compared to other competitors.

Which Sales Tool is Right For You?

Ultimately, the decision comes down to your preferences and what you want from your business. All of the data enrichment tools come with the benefits and weaknesses.
  1. Apollo is an all-rounder, capable of all sorts of sales-boosting and productivity-enhancing feats.
  2. Cognism has a solid database, and they’re internationally compliant which is always a good thing.
  3. Hunter is a fantastic tool that lets you pluck contact information from any website.
  4. Lusha is a back-to-basics straightforward contact scraper that gets the job done efficiently.
  5. Seamless has a large and up-to-date dataset that makes your job simple.
  6. Clearbit empowers you to convert website traffic into leads by capturing their IP information.
