We’re thrilled to announce the release of the official Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for tl;dv – the first of its kind to offer full support for Google Meet, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams.

This project enables developers, AI builders, and power users to plug meeting data from tl;dv into AI models through a clean, standardized interface.
Whether you’re building custom workflows, experimenting with Claude or Cursor, or just looking to inject AI into your daily productivity stack, tl;dv’s MCP server is your access layer to rich, contextual meeting intelligence.

Why This Matters

The tl;dv MCP server implements the Model Context Protocol, a growing open standard backed by Anthropic. MCP is essentially a universal API layer that lets AI clients (like Claude Desktop, Cursor, etc.) connect to real-world apps with structured context. tl;dv is the first to bring this capability to video conferencing data — meaning your meeting content is now queryable, automatable, and AI-native.

Check my LinkedIn post about it!

What You Can Do With It

Once connected, any MCP-compatible client can query tl;dv’s platform for rich meeting data across Zoom, Google Meet, and Teams. This opens up next-gen use cases like:

  • “Summarize all meetings from last week where I was the host.”
  • “What did Sarah Connor say about the Q3 roadmap?”
  • “Write a follow-up email based on today’s kickoff call.”
  • “Generate to-dos from my meeting with Rapha yesterday.”
  • “Give me bullet points like I’m the CEO.”

The underlying MCP server provides access to:

  • List Meetings: Filter by query, date, participants, or type.
  • Get Meeting Metadata: Fetch full context about any meeting by ID.
  • Get Transcript: Retrieve platform-agnostic transcripts with consistent formatting.
  • Get Highlights: Access AI-generated key moments and highlights.
  • Import Meetings (Coming Soon): Add meetings via URL, regardless of the platform.

Getting Started With the tl;dv MCP Server

To use the tl;dv MCP server, you’ll need:

You can run the server using either Docker or Node.js.

Check the Gitlab documentation for further details.

Let’s Build the Future of AI-Powered Workflows

We believe MCP is a massive unlock for building truly intelligent, cross-platform tools—and tl;dv is proud to be first out of the gate for the meetings space. If you’re an AI tinker, workflow automator, or just tired of manually parsing your meetings, now’s the time to jump in.

Explore the code, try it out, and let us know how you’re using it.
